Application of ceramic materials as building structural materials

Ceramic products such as floor tiles, wall and roof tiles, cement, bricks, gypsum, sewer pipes and glass are major parts of the multi-billion dollar construction industry.

Ceramic tiles are used in applications such as floors, walls, countertops and fireplaces. Tile is a very durable and hygienic building product that can increase the beauty of any application area. The bathroom can be equipped with sanitary ware (toilet, sink, and sometimes bathtub) made of materials similar to these tiles.

Clay bricks are used to build residential and commercial buildings due to their strength, durability, and aesthetics. Brick is the only building product that does not burn, melt, dent, flake, twist, rot, rust, or be eaten by termites. A new study by the Brick Industry Association shows that houses built with bricks provide more protection against wind and rain than those built with vinyl or fiber cement wall panels. Research shows that objects blown by medium-sized hurricanes at a speed of 25 miles per hour, such as 7.5 feet long 2*4 objects, will penetrate homes built with vinyl or fiber cement siding. In contrast, the same object needs to travel at over 80mph to penetrate the walls of the brick house.
